About 55 miles north
Painters in Fort Madison, Iowa
Riverfront homes with real weather exposure. Exterior work here is decided almost entirely by prep.
Fort Madison is about fifty-five miles north along the Mississippi, and it's our northernmost regular stop. We work there often enough that it's routine, and we schedule projects in consecutive blocks to make the distance work for everyone.
The riverfront position gives Fort Madison homes a lot of direct weather. Wind off the water, freeze-thaw cycling and summer humidity all shorten the life of an exterior finish that wasn't prepped properly, which is why we spend more of the estimate conversation on surfaces than on colors.
What Fort Madison homes ask for
Exterior longevity is the recurring question. On exposed river-facing elevations, the difference between a finish that lasts four years and one that lasts ten is almost entirely what happened before the topcoat went on — scraping back to sound material, priming bare wood, sealing joints and replacing anything too far gone. We'll show you what we find and price the repair honestly rather than painting over it.
